How friendship keeps our brain healthy

I read a blog through online app, Women of faith. It’s entitled How friendship…πŸ‘†πŸ»

According to what I’ve read, one study is about an elderly woman whose husband died. Her daughter noticed the differences in her mother. She couldn’t remember the days/weeks and couldn’t even eat on time. She preferred to be alone. Following that, her daughter and her daughter’s husband moved her to a nursing home closer to their home. Something has changed later on. The elderly lady was now interacting with more people. According to research, this woman’s recovery may be inextricably linked to her level of social activity and engagement. Scientists now believe that social interaction is essential for maintaining mental health and preventing diseases such as dementia or Alzheimer’s.

According to Valerie Crooks, there was a sentence that struck me and caused me to pause for a moment: “if you stay CONNECTED, you have a better shot.” That sentence demonstrated and revealed God to me more..

Yes, having many friends and staying connected to them is beneficial, but it is God who we must stay connected to. He is the only source of our strength, happiness in our daily lives, wisdom, learnings, and intelligence/cleverness. He is the ultimate healer, capable of mending broken hearts, sadness, wounds, and diseases. He is the one who can transform our sorrow into joy and fill our hearts with joy.Β πŸ’•
